WordPress Engineer (English Fluency)
WHAT WE DO
At Sun Asterisk, we build cutting-edge, high-performance systems to tackle complex challenges. As a developer, you will:
- Build custom WordPress themes and templates based on Figma.
- Develop and maintain WooCommerce-based eCommerce functionality.
- Customize plugins or develop new ones as needed for client requirements.
- Ensure websites are responsive, performant, SEO-friendly, and accessible.
- Integrate third-party services such as CRMs, email platforms, and analytics tools.
- Implement tracking, marketing pixels, and A/B test hooks (GTM, Facebook Pixel, etc.).
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate brand identity into engaging frontend experiences.
WHO YOU ARE
#Experience Requirements
Mandatory Skills:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress development.
- Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience with WooCommerce, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), and Elementor or Gutenberg.
- Ability to build custom themes and templates from scratch.
- Familiarity with performance optimization (Lighthouse, caching, image compression).
- Experience with Git, version control, and deployment pipelines.
- Comfortable working in agency settings and managing multiple projects in parallel.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-technical teams.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Shopify, React, or Next.js is a big plus.
- Knowledge of Headless WordPress (e.g., REST API, GraphQL).
- Familiarity with Docker-based local development environments.
